My colleague Giorgia Minen (a very prepared naturalistic and cycling guide) reports that the Alpe Adria Cycle Route is closed in the village of Resiutta. The flowing of the water of the Resia stream has damaged the foundation of the pylons supporting the historic iron bridge. A construction company is already working for solve the problem and this is the reason the bicycle path that runs on the bridge is closed.
As you can see in the pictures, there are a lot of signs that suggest an alternative route that uses the village's main street (via Nazionale).
Not all evils come to harm! Thanks to this detour, cyclists will visit some of the most interesting things of Resiutta like the Museum of the Researtico's mine and the "Galleria Ghiacciaia" (a cave with ice inside used in the past for beer production and conservation). If you plan to visit this highlights contact: Parco Naturale delle Prealpi Giulie.
